The 145th Open Championship takes place this week at Royal Troon and Zach Johnson will be defending Champion. Having won the Claret Jug once, just how much of an advantage will that be, in terms of confidence when he tees off on Thursday?
The last time The Open was held at Royal Troon was back in 2004, when the little known Todd Hamilton, who had played most of his golf in Japan, beat Ernie Els in a four hole play-off. Incidentally, Phil Mickleson, who went on to become Open Champion in 2013, finished just one shot off Els and Hamilton.
Let’s hope for a great Championship and just see who is in The Mind Zone, come Sunday afternoon!
